For use around the anal area, you may place a small amount of Proctofoam HC onto a tissue and then gently apply to the affected area.

Indications:

For the temporary relief of inflammation and itching associated with disorders of the anus or rectum, and hemorrhoids.

More Important Safety Information

  • Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
  • Stop use and ask a doctor if irritation develops or if the condition worsens or does not improve within two weeks.
  • Do not insert any part of the aerosol container directly into the anus.
  • For use on the anus, or on the area immediately surrounding the anus, only. Avoid contact with the eyes.
  • Contents of the container are under pressure.
  • Do not burn or puncture the aerosol container.
  • Do not store in temperatures above 120°F (49°C).
  • Use only as directed by your doctor.
  • Do not use this medication for any disorder other than for which it was prescribed.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

The most common side effects of Proctofoam HC seen more frequently with the use of an air and water tight dressing include:

Burning, itching, dryness, inflammation of the hair follicles, abnormal amount of hair growth over the body, acne, loss of skin color, facial rash around the mouth, skin rash, skin break-down, secondary infection, thinning of the skin, stretch marks, and heat rash.
